Our agency is excited to announce that in June this past year we were named a Top Workplace in The Washington Post. This is our second year in a row that we are pleased to have won this honor. We were ranked 17th out of 70 small businesses in Washington DC metro region. This title was bestowed upon our agency by a survey that was conducted by a third party company, Workplace Dynamics, which surveyed the level of workplace satisfaction among our employees.
We are proud that our employees hold our agency in such a high regard. As an employee of the agency for almost five years, it is my personal opinion that this is due to the many benefits that the agency provides for its employees, both personally and professionally. Some of these benefits include continuing education for all insurance agents, medical benefits that are 100% paid by the agency for the employee including a fully funded deductible, summer hours, and a half shopping day around the holidays. In addition to these perks the agency is also personally vested in the employee’s health and wellness. IA reimburses 50% of all gym sign-up fees and monthly dues associated with being a member of a fitness club. The agency realizes that if its employees are healthy the agency will be more productive overall.
Another focus of the agency is community outreach. Our last activity that we organized was working with Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless. We moved in a homeless veteran into a new home and provided all the items he needed to have a successful transition such as furniture, cleaning/cooking supplies, food, etc. Our employees took a day during the work week to move this veteran into his new home. It was a rewarding experience for both our employees and also the veteran. I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of such a great organization that cares not only for its customers with the upmost care but also their employees who are the foundation of any truly successful company.
